The Victory Sports Leaders

The 2016 -17 Sports Leaders from The Victory Academy have had a very busy year. They have supported at not just events within the Academy, but also at District and Inter-Trust level.

The year started with Victory Day where the Sports Leaders led Team Building Activities and the famous ‘Gun Run’. They also helped with Inter-house X-Country, District Sports and Sports Day and organised their own sports event; Inter-house Sports hall Athletics.

Outside of the Academy, in June, the Sports Leaders took on a variety of roles such as scorer’s and referee at the Medway Mini Youth Games Football Festival. This festival involved over 50 Year 6 Football team’s from Medway’s Primary Schools. The Sports leaders had previously had experience of supporting Football tournament’s as they helped at the Inter-Trust Primary Football Tournament which was hosted on the new 3G pitch at The Victory Academy, early on in the year.

Near the end of the Academic year the Sports Leaders have turned their hand to Athletics. They helped at Gordon Academy’s Sports Day where they were lucky enough to meet a Paralympic Champion Charlotte Evans. Our final date on the Sport’s Leaders Calendar was helping out at All Saint’s Sports Day, hosted at The Victory Academy on their running track. Some of the Sports Leader’s even intend to help at New Horizon’s Sports Day, despite it being during their Summer Holidays. The PE Department would just like to say thank you and well done.
