Victory Academy were delighted to be welcome, virtually, the talented Robert Emms for a Q&A discussion with staff and thespian students across KS3, 4 and 5. Students eagerly awaited this opportunity; preparing questions to gain insight into not only the life of a performer but top tips for achieving success and overcoming adversity within the world of theatre. We are very grateful to Robert for dedicating this time to inspire students to follow their dreams and aim high.
‘Hello Miss. Today was such an amazing opportunity all of the questions I had, I managed to get answered and wrote down. I have really been inspired by Robert today. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity it has really helped me learn and understand what it was like to be in the acting industry and learn more about that career path. Have a good day; thanks again.’ Megan Y10
‘It was very refreshing to see how a “famous” actor was just a “normal person”, he was making jokes and it really looked like he was being himself. I like the way he said that acting is more of a part time job rather than a full-time job, which made me think if I really want this and I am passionate about this I need to have confidence in myself and research a lot about the career that I truly want.’ Mik Y13
‘I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the interview. Great questions mediated expertly through by Mrs Voisey and the sixth formers, and really interesting answers too – I loved his advice about the preparation you need to do to work in the Performing Arts; having a range of options to explore (and reassure parents), and that brilliant advice about going into an interview – that no one wants you to fail…! And a good range of engaging anecdotes too. Ms Gladstone
