As you are aware, Thursday 18th March from 4pm-7pm is our virtual options evening. This is a critical time for your child as the subjects they choose from options evening will be continued through to GCSE in years 10 & 11. Due to COVID we are unable to hold an in-person options evening and therefore will run our options evening virtually. These meetings will be booked online, and then held by video meeting rather than in-person at the school.
The virtual options evening is the opportunity for you and your child to book meetings with subject leads to find out more about the options subjects that your child is interested in.
Before the options evening

You will be able to book an appointment with your child’s maths, English and science teachers for feedback on their progress this year, and book appointments for any option subjects your child is interested in taking. This will give you a chance to talk to staff about the subject and get any further information you need to help make your decisions.

Appointments will be available to book from today until 4pm on the day of the parents evening. Please book early to ensure you are able to meet with all teachers you need to.
After you have made your appointments you can choose to print or e-mail a confirmation.
On the day of the options evening
On the day of your appointments, you need to re-login at the website address above. 10mins before your appointments are due to begin you will be able to join the video meeting room, where you can wait for your appointment(s).

Please note that appointment slots are in 5-minute intervals and due to the nature of the booking system appointments cannot overrun and will automatically cut off at the end of the time limit. This is to enable staff to meet with everyone who has booked, so please ensure you arrive for the virtual meeting on time.
After the options evening
On Friday 19th March students will be issued with an electronic form to make their option choices. From this we will allocate teaching groups and options blocks and will be informing students of the options they are able to take. Please note that all option choices made by students are provisional as we will be unable to run courses if they are undersubscribed, or if they are oversubscribed we will have to limit numbers based on staff recommendations. The deadline for students completing their options choice form is Tuesday 23rd March.
