Curriculum Key Stage 5

At The Victory Academy Sixth Form, students benefit from an extremely broad range of academic, vocational and applied subject choices, ensuring a secure platform is provided for young people subsequently to pursue a range of university, apprenticeship and training options.

The A Level programme provides subjects across the arts, sciences and humanities, and additionally includes the potential to study further subjects at Holcombe Grammar School, a member of our Thinking Schools Academy Trust family of schools. As a school with significant achievement in the Arts, students can expect to excel on both BTEC and A Level Arts programmes, as well as having the opportunity to study the Arts Award. Our outstanding sports facilities, including a 3G all-weather pitch, ensure our sports students have everything they need to excel in their field. Extra qualifications can be taken in the form of Core Maths and our very successful Extended Project Qualification. For those students requiring an additional step up to Level 3 study, English or Maths GCSE can be taken alongside the main programme.

Aspiration is emphasised at The Victory Academy, with Sixth Form students enjoying guidance from both industry professionals and university representatives, to assist them in choosing the right path for them.  Academic and employability skills are equally emphasised to ensure all our students are ready for their next challenges. Students can take part in gaining work experience by attending companies relevant to their chosen career paths with support through our dedicated Sixth Form suite.  We aim to produce well-rounded and responsible individuals, and our range of charity and fundraising events ensures all students acquire a deep sense of social responsibility.

For more information about each subject we teach, its qualification, course code and exam board including contents of the subject, please download the documents below.  A complete list of the subjects available at KS5 can be found on our Subjects by Year Group page.
