Our Curriculum Offer
The A Level programme provides subjects across the arts, sciences and humanities, and additionally includes the potential to study further subjects at Holcombe Grammar School, a member of our Thinking Schools Academy Trust family of schools. As a school with significant achievement in the Arts, students can expect to excel on both BTEC and A Level Arts programmes.
The general entry requirements for The Victory Academy are 5 GCSEs at grades 4-9, however individual subjects may require particular grades at GCSE.
Students should select 3 main subjects (BTEC/A Levels) and 1 enrichment subject.

The Victory Academy Sixth Form Centre is located in the £2.3 Million State-of-the-Art building, providing a superb learning environment and exceptional facilities for all Sixth Formers, with new technologies in all subjects and interactive learning in class and for independent study.
Facilities in the Sixth Form Centre differ from the main school. Sixth Formers are provided with facilities which enable them to be more independent, including:
• Sixth Form study space
• A common room
• A kitchen area
Sixth Form students also have access to the Academy’s excellent Sports facilities:
•A Sports Hall
• A 3G football pitch
• Playing fields

All students within the Sixth Form have the opportunity to take part in a range of extra activities to support and enrich their studies. Students choose which activities to join in with according to their particular interests and talents. The Enrichment Programme is timetabled in addition to the students’ studies of the subjects they have chosen.
The Enrichment & Additional Studies programme aims to add depth and breadth to the range of skills and experiences students can offer on leaving the Sixth Form, to ensure that they are able to successfully compete for places at the best Universities. The Enrichment Programme will also help students progressing to the World of Work in being able to demonstrate that they have skills valued by employers.
The Additional Studies Programme aims to help students acquire these skills. Outlined below is a list of the Additional Studies subjects on offer. The Enrichment & Additional Studies Programme currently includes:
- Duke of Edinburgh Award
- The opportunity to take on leadership roles, such as becoming an Academy Captain or being part of the Student Voice
- Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
- Young Enterprise
- Certificate in Financial Studies
- Community Sports Leaders Award
