UNICEF Rights Respecting School Silver

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is made known to children, young people and adults, who use this shared understanding to work to improve child wellbeing, school improvement, global justice and sustainable living. Here at The Victory Academy the initiative is led by Assistant Head Teacher, Laura Simperl, and the Academy’s student council, who are passionate about raising awareness of children’s rights and have worked hard to make changes in the school. Work has been done to develop both our current Victory Citizenship curriculum and tutor time, to learn about global citizenship. 

Our student council spoke passionately to the accreditation team, stating, "We learn about human rights, which is important to make sure that everyone has opportunities and that you know about respect. It is important for children to know that they can be heard."
